The Messy Table with Laynie Travis [Ep. 31: Trading Mountains of Fear for Mountains of Faith]

If you haven’t heard, The Messy Table Bible Plan (Part 2) is LIVE and hot off the press on the YouVersion Bible App! We’d love for you to join us as we read the Bible together.

We’re also continuing the Mother’s Day Week party by virtually high-fiving all of you AMAZING MAMAS out there—bio moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, step moms, mamas of babies here on earth and mamas of babies in heaven. Aunts, sisters, mentors, care-takers, and those who “mother” others in your life… WE CELEBRATE YOU! We wish every woman who pours herself out all the solitude, pedicures, and coffee in this world. But even if those things aren’t at your current disposal, today’s episode with Laynie Travis is!

“You can build a mountain of fear or you can build a mountain of faith.”

Laynie is the cutest mom of four you’ve ever seen. She’s also a wise teacher, fierce encourager, and downright overcomer—especially when it comes to FEAR. Fear can be joy-sucking. Fear can be paralyzing. Fear can keep us from walking in trusting obedience with our Savior. But Laynie’s story and words inspire us to a place of bravery, with a confidence that comes from Christ.

You’re going to LOVE this episode. So grab your coffee, pull up a chair, and join us at The Messy Table!

An interesting note is that the first emotion Adam expressed after he fell in the Garden was fear. "The Lord God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you?". So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden and I was afraid" (Gen 3:9 & 10). It is the oldest and first trick of the enemy way back to Adam. It is no wonder the enemy continues to use fear as a weapon against us. So we need to recognize that we are now REDEEMED from fear and all sin through the Blood of Jesus. Knowing that will set us free.
