Episode #3: Whitney Reid // The Messy Table Podcast

Stuck. Numb. Worried. Fearful.

Have you ever found yourself lost in a whirling sea of crashing emotions?

Believe me, you’re not alone. Today my beautiful friend, Whitney Reid—a follower of Jesus, physician assistant, dentist’s wife, and mama of three—is joining me at The Messy Table. From the outside, everything looks neat and clean and tidy. From the outside, you would NEVER KNOW that she faced a long, unexpected battled with anxiety and depression.

But no matter how peachy our lives look from the outside, we ALL can identify with feelings that leave us gasping for air.

So pop in your earbuds and get ready, as Whitney bravely sheds some light on her incredibly difficult journey, as well as the sweet freedom she’s found. The vantage point she holds as a Christian in the medical field, as well as a wife and mom, is rich in perspective and full of hope! So grab some coffee, pull up a chair, and join us at The Messy Table.

Thank you so much for sharing, Whitney! We graduated PA school together, and I also struggled with depression and anxiety during that intense season of studying and surviving. It was without a doubt my darkest moment. But the Lord brought me to my knees in prayer and drew me to Himself like never before. My apartment was covered in 3 x 5 cards full of life-giving scripture. His words jumped off of the pages for the first time in my life. And I too was raised in church and felt I had rock solid faith before this trial. I'm so thankful to be (mostly) free from this bondage for the past 11 years. The Lord has definitely used it as a way to minister to others like I never could have before. Thankful for you sisters in Christ!

I know that will be so encouraging to her, Kim. We never know what someone else is facing! It helps to know that we're not alone. :)
