The Messy Table with Mandy Meehan [Ep. 29: Overcoming Chronic Illness]

Welcome to The Messy Table! An ordinary space for real women, imperfect stories, and the God who’s at work in our mess. Today, Amy Groeschel and I are chatting with my friend and her daughter, the amazing Mandy Meehan.

Mandy was a youth pastor at Life.Church and nearing her wedding day when she suddenly became very sick. Days turned into weeks and months; doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Fast forward almost two years into this rollercoaster journey and she’s finally seeing some progress. In this episode, Mandy is sharing how she’s overcoming a chronic illness, persevering through the pain, trusting God in the mess, and allowing her story to impact + inspire others.

So grab your coffee, pull up a chair, and join us! You’ll be glad you did.

I found mandy on YouTube and she is the most adorable sweet spirited young lady. I may be a 47 year old woman but that sweet girl has been such an inspiration to me. She is being used by God in a mighty way!

Sweet Jenn! Just listened to the pod cast with Mandy. I am knocked over by God's hand on your "Messy Table" and so thankful for your obedience to follow His leading. So many of the nuggets that Mandy shared ( as well as you and Amy) grabbed my heart today. I just want to reiterate what I know you already know. God's Truths speak to women of all ages. So from this blessed collector of many years, I want you to know that the challenge to act on what I know was rekindled by this episode. And, that snippets of Truth that God has revealed to me were underscored in the broadcast! I had never heard the lie of busyness expressed as the "crown of busyness" but it is so apt! Over the last few years God has been retraining my thoughts to embrace the abundant opportunities of life here at the "Inn" and name and claim them as such. Busyness is being banished from my vocabulary. Please know that I continue to be always in your corner, cheering you on!!! And available to pray with and for you always!

I love Ms. Mandy. Thank you for sharing her story. She is a gem in the chronic illness community and I pray every day she gets to the very bottom of what's going on and finds her cure!

Much love,
